Since we've been apart.

My brother recently made this nice (yet a little depressing) booklet for his ex girlfriend. It has that "arrr i know how you feel, mate" quality to it. We've all been there and we'll all probably be there again, lets just hope we learn from it all..
To view the booklet full size, click on the animation below.

Sarah Illenberger

Some very feminine and beautiful work from this lovely young German lady.

You know those really, sweet, pretty, cute girls that you meet from time to time, well this is what we think their perfect little insides look like.

And this is the perfume that makes them smell so utterly delicious.

Photoshop Magic

The above image was found on worth1000.com. It was the wining image in a competition to "Simply take any work of art and remove the character from the image, leaving their garments in place." Simple really!!
The site is for the Photoshop gods out there that can, at the click of a mouse, make anything look like, well, anything. Its amazing to see the true extent to what is possible with a little bit of Adobe know now. Things have really moved on from the days of MS Paint.
This image was taken from a competition entitled "Collectibles for Those Who Hate "Cute"

Its definitely worth a look, even if just to see some of the funny and ever so slightly scary images people have created. We're sure 90% of fake viral images like the one of a mans head being inserted where it shouldn't (come on we've all seen that one) started with a mouse click from the people on this site.
An Imaginative and very technically talented bunch, thanks to Craig Kind for the heads up.

Love, Love, Love, Love, Love, Love!

We love you, we really do.
We thought firstly we would share with you this stunning heart designed by the amazingly talented Marian Bantjes. Please spend a while browsing her stunning work, imagine if all type was this luxurious.

Secondly, it wouldn't be a James & Joe Valentines post without a reference to our intimate relationship with classic love songs. The piece Joe likes to belt out from his Valentines morning shower and the one James loves to be woken up by:
Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You (...How true)

Happy Valentines day.

An annual report that has to be cooked first.

Well Done: a food company annual report that has to be cooked first.
A very D&AD idea.
Check out a little more about it HERE.

Daniel Eatock’s Editions & Originals show

Daniel Eatock’s gallery show, Editions & Originals, opened at London’s Kemistry Gallery on Friday 16 November and runs into January. This is a definite must see for anyone partial to a little graphic wit and conceptual design. As soon as we've had a shifty round we'll post up a more in depth report. Until then you can read Gavin Lucas' review on the CR Blog.

Thoughtful T-Shirts

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Some nice T-Shirt ideas from out friends at Toughtful.
We really like the concept of a T-Shirt that is only legible to the wearer, it turns the whole idea of a slogan Tee on its head. (James has a tattoo that can only be understood from his viewpoint)
The "I Love Recycling" tee is clean and funny, it could also fit brilliantly with our "I Love My Mum" & "iLove U" designs.

Ted Baker Xmas Window

We received some great news today – Planarama have finished installing our first ever window display. We designed the big Christmas window for Ted Bakers "exquisite standalone womenswear store" at Langley Court, Covent Garden (map). It consists of a layered white Christmas wonderland scene spreading across the numerous front windows...

Beginning our work with Ted Baker by developing concepts for their high-street stores, it seemed quite a jump to work on their boutique womenswear store. Whilst the majority of Ted Baker windows are colourful, mechanized, and have a unique sense of humour, Langley Court strives to be elegant, feminine, and up-market.

We took on the challenge and chatted to/up the young women who worked & shopped in the store, and set out to do the impossible, think like women! We plan to see it for ourselves soon, so as we can get some more shots of the whole display working as one.

Dispatched Logo

I have admired this logo for a while now.
Its simple, obvious, brash, obtrusive, but i think they are all why i love it so much. I like it for some of the same reasons i like the 2020 Olympics logo.

Dave Werner

First you see the viral, then you see the site.

He seems to have the geek sheik down to a T. The videos on his site really give you a deep insight into the projects and something we are working on with our site. A great refreshing approach to a portfolio site.

Cum*

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
We have liked Cum*'s work for a while now, I think its there raw, dirtiness. We don't think they are to everyones taste, but they get our "creative" juices flowing.
They are definitely on the list of people we would love to work with.

Urban Outfitters

ExampleExample
ExampleExample

A few nice Tee's from Urban Outfitters. Not often you see a "slogan" Tee these days and would actually wear it.
Maybe they would send James & Joe a few, to be seen out and about in..

Design your own Penguin

ExampleExampleExampleExample

Design your own Penguin book cover, what a great idea for a really personal gift.
Above are a few people who have done one and sent to Penguin.
They have a small gallery of covers created by bands, but they are a bit arsey, thought these where better..
