CREATIVE REVIEW / MOTHER

This month we were thrilled to be profiled in Creative Review's Graduate issue. We even made the cover (That's us looking ridiculous on the left hand side).

"The September issue of CR is all about this year's graduates. We have given all our feature space over to eight eager, fresh-faced young creative types yearning to make their mark...As well as showing their work, we have also asked them about their hopes, dreams and fears about starting a career in visual communication." CR Blog

We have also been invited to exhibit our work alongside the other graduates 'Downstairs at Mother'. Below are a few snaps of us setting up, giving you a glimpse at what's instore.

Please get in touch if you would like to come and see our work. Alternatively, more about the exhibition and September Graduate issue can be found on the CR Blog.

Ideas Man

A true tale of sheer ruddy persistence.

Sheridan Simove wittily unfolds a number of his creative endeavors, detailing the rock bottom lows, knock backs, and often successes of bringing to life his eureka moments.
With a stand out chapter detailing his endeavors as a thirty something masquerading as a midlands schoolboy, baggy trousers and all, the book is an inspirational read, guaranteed to leave you feeling creative.

Simove undoubtedly proves “action is the foundational key to all success”.

To find out more about the book and a number of Simove's other ventures visit his Talent Shed.

Is it just us...

Flicking through an old book of Hockney posters, it's brilliant to be reminded of some of the fantastic work David Hockney's given us (the people of the world). As the final page is turned and our heads whirl with a sudden urge to pick up an easel, the corner of our eyes see the artists photographic portrait on the inside back cover. Another hero of our time comes to mind...

Bubbles (From popular Canadian television series Trailer Park Boys) and Hockney.

For anyone yet to watch Trailer Park Boys (TPB), it comes with our recommendation. If you liked Hockney, you'll love TPB.

Voice Drawing

Yes, 'voice drawing'! You've tried soduku, 'work' and throwing snowballs at young children, so here's a new way to pass the time..

Use the power of your speakbox to create a continuous line drawing – just talk loudly, sing quietly, or whisper suggestively to create all manner of directional shapes. We didn't find voice drawing too easy, but ditto for GTA IV and look how good that was.

One commentator (Jesse) suggests that "It's fascinating to watch it draw out some of your favorite songs". Perhaps we'll give that a go..

so click here to jump aboard.
