Homo Promo

"Right-wing evangelical groups accuse gay people of having an agenda to promote homosexuality… What would it look like if this ridiculous idea were true? GT approached advertising agencies and asked them to work up some campaigns that would sell ‘Homosexuality’ as an unbearably appealing choice and recruit to the cause. This is what they made for us. Read what the ad creators said about the thinking behind their work in the November issue of GT."
GT Magazine, November 2008

As friends of the GT team, we got involved in this months Homo Promo feature, below is our execution (Interview here).

– "Anything she can do..."

See all the contributors ads on the Facebook page, or read the magazine and hear the different thought processes behind each concept.

Quite a service you're doing the gay community here, reducing women to an orifice. It's extremely classy to insult all of the women who have fought hard for gay rights throughout history. Perhaps eventually you will realize that images are powerful things, and our bodies are beautiful things, and the image you have created here is poisonous and ugly and does nothing to help society's view of women. Advertising can be a really fun thing, but you have shown the ugly side of it--and yourselves--here.

Yes, it's really helpful to any cause to try to make your own group seem somehow "better" by pushing other groups down. Hope you feel great about that. Really.

omg, calm down... I'm a girl and I think this is a really clever and funny ad

it's not reducing women to anything, it's just playing with the idea of this one sexual aspect

jeez, have a sense of humor

Though I slightly ashamed to say it, I just laughed out loud at that ad while checking your blog on my iPhone. Now everyone is staring at me but it was worth it. Well played guys, very good.
